Hidden bar in Quezon City: VM Café

Do you have place where you can just hangout without hang-ups? A place where you and your friends can escape from the mainstream?

I know a place outside of popular gimmick scenes in Metro Manila where I can just sneak-in anytime I want to drink my favorite beer, listen to music, chill-out and relax.
VM Café also known as Villa Maganda Café in Veterans Village Project 7, Quezon City became my favorite place to go whenever I wanted to break-free from the usual. It’s a mini-bar owned by a good friend who wants to see everything happy and beautiful. That’s why it is called Villa Maganda (villa: a house/place) (manganda: beautiful). The cozy ambience, display of artworks and collectible items inside VM Café always capture a first timer's eyes.

The pocket garden in front of the Cafe is my favorite spot. A big tree hovers above it. At day time, I can just sit there and watch the busy street of Bansalangin.  At night time, that's where my friends and I chill out.
The menu has our usual favorites of  beer match pica-pica/pulutan. Ate Ning's  special barbeques are the regulars' top choice.   Pork barbeque is the best seller! ( Too bad, I don’t eat pork ‘coz I follow a certain diet, haha!).  I settle for the next best seller --  isaw ng manok (Chicken intestine barbeque)!
For the hungry tummies who want rice and viand, my all time favorite is tapsilog (fried marinated beef with egg and rice).  Complement it with a refreshing glass of iced tea. Voila... BUSOG!

Sodas like Coke, Royal, Sprite, instant coffee and tea are available. SanMig Light, Red Horse and Manila Beer are just few of your choices for beers. If you're into hard drinks like Vodka (The Bar) and brandy (Matador), you can get a bottle of these drinks, mix them with iced tea and enjoy with your friends. TAGAY na!
A bottle of SanMig Light is 35 pesos only ($0.74 US).  Match it with a piece of pork BBQ at 10 pesos per piece ($0.21 US) SARAAAPPP! (yummy!).
What else can I ask for? Flat-screen TV? Wifi internet connection? Yes, they're all there. It’s a pleasure checking facebook in my apple gadget while having light and happy conversations with friends over a few bottle of drinks.  This is my idea of a perfect tamabayan after a tiring day!

The best things in life are free! In VM, I meet endless types of people who eventually become good friends.

WAW! What a beautiful place for food, drinks and brotherhood.
